Stickers Matte Gold with Blue and Pink

Some time ago MorningPrint did an introductory article called Stickers which described each sticker we offer. It is a good introductory piece to all our sticker collection. If you have not read it, we recommend doing so before proceeding with this article.

Stickers Thank You

What are the actual differences between Uncoated and Coated Stickers? What is the coating? Is there a shine?
-Both Uncoated and Coated stickers are made with the same kind of smooth paper. The only real difference between both of them is that one is coated, while the other is not. But this coating does lead to differing characteristics for each sticker, even though they are made with the same kind of paper.

-An Uncoated Sticker has no coating. It is a true matte sticker, without any shine or reflective qualities. Without any coating, there is also no protection against moisture, the weather or tearing. The original color of this sticker is a crisp, bright white, which makes any color pop. This sticker also has the ability to have very saturated colors.

-A Coated Sticker is the made of the same type of paper as the uncoated sticker, except it also has a laminate coating. This laminate coating has a high shine while making the sticker tear resistant. The coating also gives it some protection against moisture and the weather. While it has the same bright white of the original paper, the coating will make any printed ink more saturated.

Is Foiling possible on stickers?
Yes, Foiling is possible on most of our stickers. We are also able to do Oversized Foiling on our stickers. The sticker options which do not allow Foiling are Metal, Hologram and Vintage Kraft Stickers.

Eco-friendly Stickers
MorningPrint offers a selection of environmentally friendly stickers. They each have their own characteristics.
Vintage Kraft Stickers is made with recycled paper, making it completely eco-friendly. By being made of recycled paper, Vintage Kraft Stickers have a natural light brown color.

Durable Stickers are made of Yupo, a synthetic paper, which makes it water proof and tear proof. Durable stickers are more of a creamy white coloring, and completely matte. To view the effects of water on a Durable Sticker, click here.

Stickers Blue and White

Clear Stickers are completely clear, like our PET plastic business cards. Our stickers are made of pp material, which is an environmentally friendly plastic. These stickers are highly reflective. These stickers can also be placed facing a car window, but your design will need to be inverse.

Silver PET is made of a PET material, which is an environmentally friendly plastic. The Silver PET has a light gray coloring with a slight reflective quality.

-Gold PET is also made of a PET material, an environmentally friendly plastic. It is only
available with our custom shape sticker.

Stickers Red and Black Foiling

One of our most frequent inquiries is what kind of sticker has the best tolerance to the weather?
The answer really depends on what you want the sticker to be used for and what kind of resistance you are looking for

If your priority is the paper part of the sticker itself, you should consider our Durable Sticker. Since it is made of Yupo Paper, it is both tear proof and water proof. That means the ink will not run if it gets affected by water, ensuring a perfect design.
For example, if you want it to go onto products which will be around humidity and water, like a shampoo bottle, we recommend our Durable Sticker.
Here is a video of a durable sticker being placed under water.

If the sticker is meant to be a label on a package, then we recommend Strong Adhesive Sticker. It is extra strength glue. Keep in mind the actual paper of the sticker will be our Uncoated stock.

If you want to use the sticker as a sign and just want the most use, then a good combination is Strong Adhesive Sticker and add the Coated Sticker glossy coating: The strongest glue with some protection against the elements.

What You Need to Know Stickers Gold Sticker

What is the Latest News on Stickers?
MorningPrint now offers Gold Stickers. However, it is only available with our Shaped Stickers. It will be one of the products listed that you can choose from. It is a PET sticker, meaning that it is also environmentally friendly.

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers All

MorningPrint has several environmentally friendly options to choose from in both our paper and plastic selections. Ranging in color, texture and material, they each have their own characteristics.

1. Vintage Kraft

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers Vintage Kraft

Vintage Kraft

Vintage Kraft is made of recycled paper pulp creating eco-friendly paper for business cards. Since it is made of recycled pulp, at times it is possible to feel a hairy texture on this paper. It also has a rich brown color, similar to the color of cardboard. Due to its dark coloring, black prints the best of all the other color choices.

Vintage Kraft Stickers

We have also turned Vintage Kraft into a sticker, becoming one of the two eco-friendly sticker options from MorningPrint. It is also possible to choose this paper for both our post card sizes, 4×6 and 5×7.
An excellent finishing option choice for this business card is Foiling.

2. Aquarelle/Heavy Aquarelle

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers Aquarelle

Aquarelle with Raised Ink

A matte, creamy white textured paper Aquarelle and it’s thicker partner Heavy Aquarelle are another option for eco-friendly business cards. Both have received a certificate with a five star rating from the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) saying these papers meet their standards for forest management. As a watercolor paper, both absorb color well and reflect watercolor designs the best.
Aquarelle is available in our postcard sizes 4×6 and 5×7.
Our favorite finishing option to pair with this paper is Raised Ink.

3. Yupo

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers Yupo

Yupo

Yupo is a creamy white synthetic paper, which makes it an eco-friendly business card. Ironically, it does not have natural paper feel as it is cool to the touch and quite smooth.
At 9pt it is also our thinnest paper selection for environmentally friendly business cards. However, it is also our most durable because it is both waterproof and tear proof.
This paper was also made into a sticker, called Durable Sticker, for our strongest sticker and second eco-friendly sticker option.

4. Plastics

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers Clear Plastic

Clear+White Plastic

Contrary to popular belief, the majority of our plastic business cards are made of PET plastic. PET plastic is recognized as a safe, non-toxic,  lightweight and flexible material that is 100% recyclable. This material is very thin, around the thinness of a water bottle.
We have a variety of options to choose from such as Clear, White, Silver and Hologram plastic business cards.

What You Need to Know: Frosty Plastic

Frosty Plastic is our plastic with the fastest production timeline. It only takes two business days for stamping the foiling on and an additional two business days for delivery.

Frosty Plastic is environmentally friendly
Like the majority of our plastic products, Frosty Plastic is made of PET material. PET plastic is an environmentally friendly material. It is the same material that water bottles are made from. Some of it’s characteristics include being quite thin, light weight, and flexible.

IMG_20180212_134749_575

Frosty means it is not crystal clear
The part of the name ‘Frosty’ has been confusing to some clients. Some believe there is a possibility it has a tint of white ink, which is not true (or possible). In fact, Frosty Plastic is a clear plastic business card. However, rather than being crystal clear, like looking through a window, it is blurry. As a transparent card, Frosty Plastic can only accommodate single sided designs.
Click here to view the blurry transparent quality of our Frosty Plastic

Only one Foiling color is possible in Frosty Plastic (that means no ink printing)

Another point of confusion for those interested in these cards is that Frosty Plastic can only print one color of foiling. That means your whole design will be done in the foiling you pick. As such, ink printing, gradients and shading are not possible in this product.

Wide Foiling Areas are Prone to Fading Away
Wide or large foiling designs are at a high risk of oxidation. Oxidation means that the foiling is peeling off the plastic stock. The peeling will reveal the transparent plastic stock underneath. It will look worn out as if the cards are old and worn from use.
If you must have a wide foiling area, our printing team will need to review your file and discuss the risk with you before printing.

Thinner and Smaller Design Elements are Welcomed
Normally, we try to warn clients that by using thin and small design elements and fonts their information could be difficult to see and read, especially on our Clear Plastic (No White Ink). However, our foiling is stamped on, and the colors of the foiling can not be altered. Therefore we can guarantee legibility for smaller and thinner design elements, even against the transparent background of the Frosty Plastic.

Creating a Professional Holiday Card

Glossy Gold Foiling Holiday Card

Designing the right holiday card for your business can be tricky. You want your cards to be festive without losing the professionalism of your work. Elements of a professional holiday card will keep your company culture in mind and has a warm holiday message for everyone; whether it is your colleagues, employees or customers. Some holiday messages to consider are: Season’s Greetings, Happy Holidays, Warmest Wishes, and Holiday Greetings. If possible try to represent your business with your design. For example, a baker can have a design involving a tray of holiday treats and a caterer can feature a warm holiday meal.

Fun Holiday Card

4×6 Postcard in Standard Coated 14pt Matte

It would be advisable to also have a festive, neutral and professional design for your corporate holiday cards. We, at MorningPrint, noticed that reserved designs are most commonly used in creating professional holiday cards. That is not entirely necessary. With the use of warm colors and a familiar setting, a holiday card can be professional with a warm and even intimate design.
For example:
A cup of hot chocolate near a warm fireplace
A tray of holiday cookies
Mittens, scarves and gloves
A cartoon of pets in scarves

If these types of images do not fit in with your business, perhaps a more general winter design can suit your needs.
For example:
Sleigh bells with ribbons
Starry night sky over a forest in winter
Snowman
Snow falling

Heavy Star Dream Holiday Card

5×7 Heavy Star Dream

If this does not properly represent your business, then consider a geometric design. For example:
Geometric designs are always professional.
Pine needle with branches and leaves motif
A close up of a snowflake, showing many intricate details
Fireworks
In a fancy font, write “Happy Holidays” or “Happy New Year” in different languages.

Those interested in creating holiday cards for their business can use our postcard sizes, 4×6 and 5×7. Our postcards can be made with a fold in them so your holiday cards will need to be opened, like a gift from you.

Folded Holiday Card

Some special papers to choose from are:
Star Dream/Heavy Star Dream: Festive metallic papers with a gold dust shine. These papers have a warm and celebratory feeling. Raised ink will stand out against this sparkling paper.
Vintage Kraft: A naturally brown paper best suited for vintage or more casual designs. Foiling, especially red foiling really pops against this paper.

Vintage Kraft Holiday Card

Heavy Linen: The most professional paper, with the brightest white while being upscale and fresh. This paper tends to look extra special with foiling or raised ink.
Heavy Nouveau: Our most elegant paper in a creamy white. Embossing will add to the professionalism of your holiday cards.

Holiday Partyu Holiday Card

4×6 Standard Coated 14pt Matte with Glossy Gold Foiling

Heavy Silky Matte: An elegant paper with a silky touch that allows fingers to glide across the paper. For a holiday card, we recommend considering using foiling or embossing with this paper.
Aquarelle: A watercolor paper which displays warm colors and watercolor styles which look intimate. Looks beautiful with just ink.

Glossy Silver Foiling Holiday Card

5×7 Standard Coated 20pt Matte with Glossy Silver Foiling

Standard Coated papers: Silky feeling paper with a soft laminate shine. Involves our thickest postcard, at 20 pt and the 14pt Matte can use Spot UV for a visual shine.

Introducing Yupo: Durable and Waterproof

Yupo is one of our least known products, here at MorningPrint. We believe most people do not think of this paper stock because they are unsure of what it is. Hopefully, after reading this brief article, you will feel better acquainted with this type of paper.

20170622_112040
To start, Yupo is not regular paper, it is actually a synthetic paper. Synthetic paper is made of 100% recycled paper, making Yupo as environmentally friendly as Vintage Kraft. At 9pt, it is also our thinnest stock. For reference purposes, it could be described as slightly thicker than  a sheet of college ruled notebook paper.

20170622_112102

Despite it’s thinness (which to some may be a pro and not a con), it is our most durable paper. Yupo is waterproof, tear-prof and can be wiped clean. In addition to durability, Yupo also boasts a fresh, modern appearance. It is smooth, cool to the touch and has a bright white stock.

Wedding Invitations

Wedding season has arrived.
From May to the start of September, everyone you know seems to be either getting married, planning weddings, attending weddings, or announcing their own engagements. And MorningPrint is no different. We have our own beautiful bride to be, Ava, who is recently engaged and beginning the plans for her own wedding.

Hello!
My name is Ava and I am the office assistant at MorningPrint. This past March, I got engaged to a sweet man. Since then, I have started wedding planning, and it is more overwhelming than I ever thought possible. Locations, venues, caterers, wedding planners, is a lot to learn and take in.

Engagement Ring

My engagement ring!

The only aspect of wedding planning I am not completely overwhelmed with is the different wedding papers: invitations, save the dates, menu cards. etc. Working at MorningPrint taught me a great deal about paper, paper products and printing. I thought it would be nice to share my inside knowledge with my fellow brides using our MorningPrint products. Even if you do not use our service, the information will come in handy for all those wedding paper details. I hope it takes a little of the guess work out of wedding planning.

For some time now, MorningPrint’s wedding process is that brides would order one of our postcard sizes, upload their design to the postcard, which we would then print with our usual efficiency. Our postcards come in two sizes, 4×6 and 5×7. We offer the following stocks in postcards: Standard Coated (14pt/matte and 20pt/matte), Standard Coated Glossy (14pt/glossy), Aquarelle, Nouveau, Heavy Nouveau, Linen, Heavy Linen, Scotland, Heavy Silky Matte, Star Dream, Heavy Star Dream, Vintage Kraft, Opaque White Plastic.

Our current most popular stock choice is Nouveau and Heavy Nouveau. Nouveau and Heavy Nouveau are essentially the same, except Heavy Nouveau is thicker and heavier than Nouveau. However, both have the same quality and the same smooth feeling when you hold them in your hands. The one adjective that comes to my mind whenever I handle these two cards is luxury. Those couples planning on having a very formal or high end type of wedding should seriously consider using this paper family.

IMG_3027

Left: Nouveau with bronze foil / Right: Nouveau with glossy gold foil

Nouveau and Heavy Nouveau are good in a practical sense too. Both are such thick papers that pressed or stamped finishing touches (such as foiling and embossing) do not leave their imprint on the other side.

Our 2nd most popular choice of paper and one of my personal favorites is Aquarelle. It is an European style paper with a similar texture to watercolor paper. This sort of texture not only means it absorbs color well, but it also has a versatility in feeling. You want your invitations and other papers to reflect the atmosphere of the wedding day. Aquarelle‘s texture will be able to give you a wide range of feelings to choose from. This paper can perfectly reflect a romantic, vintage, whimsical, fairy tale, fun or elegant day. Depending on your design, it can reflect one or more of those I listed. Personally, I consider it to be one of the most romantic papers you can pick and for that reason, I will most likely be choosing this paper for my own wedding.

Aquarelle.jpg

Aquarelle postcard 5×7

In terms of practicality, Aquarelle also has the ability to hold pattern well, while being thick enough for your pattern not to pass through to the other side. Do you recall the Aquarelle invitation pictured above? It has a detailed pattern on the reverse side but it is only possible to see through when holding it up to the sun on a very bright day. That is a substantial paper.
Last, but not least, Aquarelle is an acid-free and eco-friendly paper, so you would not be harming the environment and your work would be preserved longer!

Background pattern Aquarelle.jpg

Our third most popular choice is a tie between our family of Standard Coated papers and our family of Silky Matte papers. Both families of paper are ideal when the couple wants to use their engagement photos as their save the dates, engagement announcements, or in their Thank You cards. Examples of both are pictured below.

Black and White Trio.jpg

From farthest back to front: Standard Coated, Heavy Nouveau, Heavy Silky Matte

Standard Coated would be my recommendation for those who are having large events and would like more affordable pricing. You will still get quality paper, just at the best deal possible, and who doesn’t like that? That is the one huge advantage Standard Coated has over our other papers.

I hope you learned something from this article, I had a blast putting it together for you all. I will be in touch again soon with some more insights into wedding planning!

Unique & Utilitarian Yupo

yupo-side

There are some people out there with dirty jobs. Jobs in construction, art, architecture, engineering or even the auto industry call for business cards that are going to stand the test of time and physical damage. People in these industries are in need of a durable card stronger than our typical paper options.

Paper made from pulp can tear and dissolve in water. Plastic is waterproof and tear proof, but will show the marks of everyday use/damage. So what are our options? Let me introduce to my old and often overlooked friend, Yupo.

Yupo is a synthetic paper, made from polypropylene pellets. That’s right, a paper that won’t harm our trees! It is tear proof, water proof and best of all, 100% recyclable.

Morning Print’s Yupo Paper can be used for a variety of applications, from packaging to print projects. Ink prints super sharp and beautifully bold. And if your cards happen to acquire some dirt, it will easily wipe clean with a damp cloth. Also available for stickers, all in all, this is simply a great card option for any industry.
