Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers All

MorningPrint has several environmentally friendly options to choose from in both our paper and plastic selections. Ranging in color, texture and material, they each have their own characteristics.

1. Vintage Kraft

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers Vintage Kraft

Vintage Kraft

Vintage Kraft is made of recycled paper pulp creating eco-friendly paper for business cards. Since it is made of recycled pulp, at times it is possible to feel a hairy texture on this paper. It also has a rich brown color, similar to the color of cardboard. Due to its dark coloring, black prints the best of all the other color choices.

Vintage Kraft Stickers

We have also turned Vintage Kraft into a sticker, becoming one of the two eco-friendly sticker options from MorningPrint. It is also possible to choose this paper for both our post card sizes, 4×6 and 5×7.
An excellent finishing option choice for this business card is Foiling.

2. Aquarelle/Heavy Aquarelle

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers Aquarelle

Aquarelle with Raised Ink

A matte, creamy white textured paper Aquarelle and it’s thicker partner Heavy Aquarelle are another option for eco-friendly business cards. Both have received a certificate with a five star rating from the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) saying these papers meet their standards for forest management. As a watercolor paper, both absorb color well and reflect watercolor designs the best.
Aquarelle is available in our postcard sizes 4×6 and 5×7.
Our favorite finishing option to pair with this paper is Raised Ink.

3. Yupo

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers Yupo

Yupo

Yupo is a creamy white synthetic paper, which makes it an eco-friendly business card. Ironically, it does not have natural paper feel as it is cool to the touch and quite smooth.
At 9pt it is also our thinnest paper selection for environmentally friendly business cards. However, it is also our most durable because it is both waterproof and tear proof.
This paper was also made into a sticker, called Durable Sticker, for our strongest sticker and second eco-friendly sticker option.

4. Plastics

Eco-friendly Business Cards and Stickers Clear Plastic

Clear+White Plastic

Contrary to popular belief, the majority of our plastic business cards are made of PET plastic. PET plastic is recognized as a safe, non-toxic,  lightweight and flexible material that is 100% recyclable. This material is very thin, around the thinness of a water bottle.
We have a variety of options to choose from such as Clear, White, Silver and Hologram plastic business cards.

  5. Please give us a brief history of your business and some of the services you provide.
We specialize in graphic design and marketing for hospitality and beverage companies. These types of businesses are our primary focus as we have a background in event planning and bartending. We provide logo (brand identity), menu, business cards, event flyer design and more! This particularly wedding-invitation set was done for a bar consultant colleague and his fiance.Design of the Month March 2018 Save the Date Back
  6. What was the goal of your design?
The wedding invitations we did for Sarah and Aaron were meant to capture the spirit of their celebration in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The textures and colors pull directly from the buildings and flowers of the city. The map on the backside is an abstract representation of the location and energy of the wedding festivities.
  7. Why did you choose the Standard Coated papers?
They are a true matte finish with durability and great ink absorption. Colors are always very vivid and rich!Design of the Month March 2018 Map Back
  8. Our favorite part of your design is the map on the back of the Parade Card. How did you create that effect for the back of the card?
The map was created from a rough sketch of a city map that was altered in proportions to include all the wedding festivities. The affects and textures were created using watercolor and paint brushes in Adobe Illustrator. The couple asked for special elements such as the bride and groom, plants and flowers and their two pups. These tiny details made the map feel truly customized and special.Design of the Month March 2018 Save the Date
  9. We have never seen a black wedding never seen a black wedding invitation set, and yet it works beautifully. How did you decide on the color pattern, including Matte Gold Foil of the invitation and parade card?
The couple wanted a richness and colorful celebratory mood to their wedding invitation set. Matte Gold Foil was an absolute must to give the invitation a little bit of polish. The colors come naturally from the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel cathedral and surrounding architecture of the city of San Miguel de Allende. The black seemed like a no-brainer that gave this invitation a rich contrast and helped make it feel more personal, more like them and less like other wedding invitations you see.Design of the Month March 2018 Invitation
  10. What made you choose MorningPrint?
I’ve used Morning Print for the last 5-6 years. Their paper quality is the main reason that I love them, plus the ability for metallic foils and spot UV. They are absolutely my go to for an affordable and beautiful business card or flyer.
  11. How was your experience with MorningPrint? Would you recommend us to others?
My experience was great. I did have some difficulty uploading larger files to their website (the wedding map file) but was able to dropbox them to their team, and they added the files to my order.
Yes, I would definitely recommend MorningPrint.

Small Business/Company Uses:
The most primary use for our postcards in regards to businesses, is for marketing material. Marketing material can range from anything such as announcements to professional holiday cards. For those businesses which deliver, these postcards are an excellent choice as a Thank You card inside the package. Those in the fashion industry use these postcards to have images of their clothing or styles. Artists use the postcards as an actual postcard with images of their artwork on it. Those in the food industry use images of food on their postcards. These cards are also a good option for corporations who use postcards for sending professional holiday cards and reminders to their clients. Online companies use these postcards to provide extra information for a purchased product.

Postcard Thank You

Personal Uses:
These postcards are also appropriate for personal uses. Some examples include invitations (ranging from wedding invitations to party invitations), thank you cards and holiday cards. In our experience, 4×6 tend to be more popular for RSVP cards and some menu cards. 5×7 postcards tend to be used for either invitations or menu cards or holiday cards.

Interview:

Q : Jessica, briefly tell us about your business and its history:

A : I have been running a photography business for a few years and recently moved to another state and so decided to rebrand my business to better suit the market

Q : How did you select your designer for this project?

A: Well he is my husband! LOL And he also had just started his own design business so I knew I would get a great design and also a good deal.

Q : Where did the fox theme come from?

A: Our family shield features a fox so the theme runs through into our businesses.

Q : What direction did you give your designer? How did you like the final outcome of the project?

A: I explained that I wanted something simple and yet elegant, something not over the top but that would grab your attention.

Q : Bjorn, please tell us a little about yourself as a designer, and the services you offer:

A: I have been working in partnership with a very talented young designer by the name of Sebastian Pizarro for a while whom is now the other member of Fox Design Corp. We offer services to various niche markets like wedding stationary, greeting cards, and personalized stationary for individuals, along with logo and website design or a whole identity for a company as we have done for Jessica.

Q : Your design inspires us, what inspires you?

A: I think that the things that I admire most are always the simplest and yet convey a strong message with very little, whether it is words or just a few lines. This is mostly because when you start with an idea it is very cluttered and it is taking the time to remove the clutter that leaves you with something poignant and interesting.

Q : This order used a variety of options for this project, Spot UVFoilingRaised inkRounded Corners. How did you decide on the options?

A: MorningPrint offers many different printing options that I have been wanting to try for quite some time, so when the client said that she was happy to try anything we recommended it was hard not to try all of them LOL. I think that foiling gives things a sense of class along with rounded corners and the cards won’t bend in the corners and maintain a more pristine look. The raised ink and spot UV also add a texture that give the cards a real premium and tactile feel that also shows off the pattern we designed in a subtle way.

Q : When working with your clients, how do you get to the bottom of the style / design / products you will offer them?

A: I think as a designer it is important to understand the clients business, and therefore how the design will help the business stand out and also how they will use their stationary, in order to offer them the best solution. For example if my client is a plumber we might try a simpler design to make them look more upmarket instead of a tacky graphic and slogan and I would steer them more to plastic cards due to their water resistance and ease of cleaning in case they get them dirty. I would not try and steer them to something that may be more premium but that would not be particularly functional or useful for the business.

Q : Any tips for our clients to consider when they are creating their business cards?

A: Given the amount of cards people receive all the time it is worthwhile putting some effort in making something memorable in both design and feel so that you have more chances of potential clients keeping your cards and not throwing them away.

MorningPrint Hint: CMYK Color-Matching Tips

Color Matching

When you’re submitting your design for MorningPrint, it’s important to make sure you understand how our printing process works, whether you’re a designer or not. Understanding our printing process will not only help you with color matching your design to the type of service we offer, but it will give you a better understanding of whether or not our system works for your design and how you can create your files to be compatible with our system.

So where do we begin?

The first thing you’ll need to note is that MorningPrint is an offset CMYK gang printing service. I’m sorry, what?

Unlike Pantone, CMYK uses 4 colors – Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black – to make other colors. Pantone uses the exact color every time, so if you’re looking for complete uniformity, hate to say it but we can already tell you right now you’re going to want to use a different printing service.

MorningPrint is also a gang printing company, meaning we will beat anyone up in a moment’s notice and not even be sorry about it because we’re the toughest printing company there is. Google it.

CMYK-raster-CMYKGang printing is a method of printing where multiple projects are printed together on the same giant sheet. How does this affect you? For one, if you’re looking for a proof of your work, you’re going to be in trouble. But if you are looking to get your order done as fast as possible with the highest quality out there, you’ve hit the jackpot.

The reason why we can’t provide you with a proof is the same reason why we’re able to work so efficiently: The minimum quantity we can print at one time is 200 cards, as opposed to digital printing which can print each card one by one. Our method is incredibly cost effective for you because it reduces labor costs and waste, which is why MorningPrint’s prices are always the lowest you’ll find.

If you are looking to get your order done as fast as possible with the highest quality out there, you’ve hit the jackpot.

How does this play into color-matching? Because gang printing uses a CMYK system, color balance is difficult to maintain from card to card. Many projects are placed side-by-side at one time, so it’s harder to get custom color and custom cuts that are exactly the same every time.

This doesn’t mean that you’re going to somehow get a square cut and a rectangle cut on your same business card order – most times the difference isn’t even noticeable, especially to the untrained eye. Still, it’s important to note that no two cards are printed and cut exactly the same.

What you absolutely need to understand before placing your order with MorningPrint:

  • MorningPrint (just like all gang printing companies) is unableto guarantee 100% color match. If you are looking for exact precise coloring you may not be able to achieve this CMYK offset printing. We’d hate to see you go, but we’d hate to not be able to give you the results you’re looking for even more #realtalk.
  • Even if you are using a CMYK book/chart the color can still vary because there are an insane number of variables that will also affect it. For example: different card stocks absorb colors differently. Our Scotland card stock will absorb color differently than our Clear Plastic card stock because of thickness, coating and texture. That’s the way it is.
  • It’s important to note that what you see on your computer monitor may change once it’s in print. For example, we cannot compensate forRGB values you may be using in your design and viewing on your screen.
  • Color results can shift using the same design when the design is printed at different times as weather and other external factors can affect the outcome.
  • Colors printed on the front and back of the card may have a shift even if the same value is used as they are run at separate times.
  • Raised InkSpot UV may shift the color of the printed area

What do we suggest so you get the finished product you’re looking for?

For starters, create your files using CMYK values. But even then, it’s important to note that what you see isn’t always what you get. Your screen displays everything in RGB so even if your files is set to CMYK it can look different on the screen.mppic

  • Use a CMYK chart as a reference but if using offset gang printing you have to leave room for slight shifts. Remember, this is not just a MorningPrint standard, it’s an industry standard.

Q : Briefly tell us about your company, it’s history and what kind of services you offer?

A : After I had my first child I quit my graphic design job to be a stay at home mom. Although staying at home and taking care of my children was a wonderful blessing, I found it hard to find a creative outlet. I discovered birthdays to be a great way to take care of that creative itch. Designing invitations and parties for my children soon turned into designing for my friends as well. A dear friend of mine encouraged me to start selling my invitations on Etsy (lemonademoments.etsy.com). It took some convincing but much to my surprise and delight Lemonade Moments immediately took off.

Q : Where did the name Lemonade Moments come from?

A : For most of us, lemonade is a drink infused with nostalgia. Just one taste can take us back to lazy summer days when life was carefree and full of joy. My hope is that my designs are the first step to achieving those sweet and refreshing

lemonade moments‘.

Q : Your design inspires us, what inspires you?

A : My inspiration can come in the most random places. I have absolutely no control over when or how it happens. Which is incredibly frustrating and not always conducive to productivity. Grin! I have a deep love for typography. Which started in an old school type setting/press class I took in college. You will often find me snapping pictures of anything with great typography. I get inspirations from vintage posters, packaging, signs and old advertisements. I love the design era from the 20’s-50’s.

Q : You added raised ink to the front of your design as well as rounded corners, why did you select these finishing?

A : I knew I wanted my business card to stand out. I think the linen paper, rounded corners and raised ink really helped with that.

Q : We love the color scheme of your card, how did you decide on this pallet?

A : Well, that was the easiest part. Yellow has always been my favorite color and thankfully also the color of lemonade. It is very cheerful and playful. The characteristics I want to associate with my invitations. It also happens to be a color that is hard to read. I knew I had to choose a background that would compliment without dulling it. Allowing the yellow to be more noticed. I think the neutral taupe does this well.

Q : Any tips for our clients to consider when they are creating their business cards?

A : Make it worth remembering. There are a lot of average business cards floating around. Make sure yours is unique and catchy so that it will grab your audience’s attention.

Q : Did you experience any difficulties when using TheMorningPrint.com, or find anything to be inconvenient or inefficient? Any suggestions you can offer us to help make the customer experience better?

A : No, it was very easy to work with Morning Print. Thank you so much! You have a repeat customer here.

Interview:

Q : Briefly tell us about your company, it’s history and what kind of services do you offer?

A : Nickel Creative is a small graphic design company offering branding, web and online marketing services. We specialize in custom WordPress sites and logo creation.

Q : Your design inspires us, what inspires you?

A : Other design, people and places. simply walking down the street! I try to pay close attention to what is happening around me because inspiration can be drawn from almost anywhere. I frequent countless design blogs as well as sites like dribbble and Behance to stay fresh.

Q : The front side of your card has a great worn and aged feel, and the backside you included a fully bled raised ink design that provides a wonderful texture, how did you come up with this concept?

ImageA : The “Nickel” on the front of the card is my rough interpretation of an old shield nickel which was first introduced in 1866. The shield nickel was the first five cent denomination struck in nickel. I wanted to carry an aged feeling throughout the card and my brand, so texture was used to help accomplish this.

Q : Any thoughts on the stock and finishing you selected? Are you interested in any other finishing’s or stocks MorningPrint has to offer?

A : I’ve placed orders for raised ink and foil cards and I’ve been happy with each. I’ll be trying the emboss at some point as well. MorningPrint’s pricing structure allows anyone to experiment with what would normally be cost prohibitive finishing effects.

Q : Any tips for our clients to consider when they are creating their business cards?

A : Try to be unique with your design because that first impression really counts! Search the web for inspiration, there are hundreds of sites that feature some truly amazing business card designs. Then, call me for help with putting your ideas together into your own powerful design that will blow people away!

Q : Did you experience any difficulties when using TheMorningPrint.com, or find anything to be inconvenient or inefficient? Any suggestions you can offer us to help make the customer experience better?

A : An InDesign template would be helpful for new customers who prefer to lay out their work in that way. Maybe I’ll let you have mine.

***Note: Black Raised Ink VS Clear Raised Ink:

Raised ink uses a special process called ‘Epoxy’. It is similar to UV spot coating but has more raised effect.

This clear substance will be applied over designate printed area and creating unique raised effect on the business card surface.

There are two types of raised ink: black and clear. If the requested area for raised ink is 100% black we use the black raised ink. If the requested area for raised ink has other colors a clear epoxy is used.

Suggested raised ink: MorningPrint suggests using the Raised ink Option with all 100% black text on white stock as the black ink has a more precise effect.

MAKE-A-WISH

Hey guys! Happy March to you all, the year seems to be chugging by quickly it seems like 2012 just started but here we are mid March. So much has been going on here, we have introduced our black paper stock, change the website layout, updated our file uploading system etc. All in all 2012 has been off to a great productive start.  It is our goal to make MorningPrint as user friendly as possible while offering you the best products.

As a small growing company we understand that life is not just about business but that there is a bigger picture out there. One of our new year’s resolutions this year was to reach out and give back.  The more we grow the more we want to give. As members of the Irvine Chamber of Commerce we were able to get in touch with a couple Make-A-Wish representatives. Since then we have been able to partner with them by offering our services to help promote their organization.

About Make-A-Wish:

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Orange County and the Inland Empire is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and fulfill the wishes for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 who confront life-threatening medical conditions.

Granting wishes helps these children find the hope they need to transform their life-threatening illnesses into life-affirming triumphs. Formed in 1983, the chapter has fulfilled the wishes of more than 3,500 children.

We would like to ask you to join us in making a difference with Make-A-Wish. Please visit their website for more information on how you can change a life: www.wishecie.org

Here is a postcard that we recently printed:

make a wish postcard

This post card was printed on our star dream stock which is also great for wedding invitations. These post cards will be used for brides to be, giving them ideas how their special day can make a child’s special dream come true.

If you are a bride to be or maybe you know a bride to be here are a few ways you can help:

  • In Lieu of Gifts: Consider asking your guests to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire in lieu of purchasing wedding gifts.
  • Wedding Favors: Your guest won’t quickly forget your generosity when they see that you have made a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in their honor.
  • Charity Gift Registry: By creating a gift registry with the I Do Foundation, up to 10% of your guests’ gift purchases from partnering stores will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
  • Make-A-Wish Money Dance: Have your DJ announce that all the money raised during your money dance will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
  • Sell your Dress: Thinking of selling your dress after the big day? Why not donate the proceeds to the Foundation? It’s a great way to give your dress even more meaning.
  • Gift Cards and Toys: Instead of wedding gifts, ask your guests to bring gift cards or unwrapped toys to your bridal shower or wedding.

Together we can make a difference!

State & Country : South Carolina, United States
Order Date : November, 12th 2011 / Stock : Silky Matte + raised ink

Q : Briefly tell us about Tootaloo, what kind of services do you offer?

A : Tootaloo Designs is my freelance design firm. At Tootaloo Designs, my passion for design and life transforms the ordinary and into extraordinary. Whether you are looking for a unique brand identity, pixel perfect web design, event invitations that set the mood for your special day or looking to capture life’s special moments on camera Tootaloo Designs can help.

Q : Can you tell us where the name Tootaloo originated from, or what the meaning behind it is?

A : The word “tootaloo” originates from the French word a tout a l’heure, which means see you soon. For as long as I can remember I have been using the word tootaloo in my everyday vocabulary. I didn’t think anything of it until a coworker commented about how unique and funny it was. Ever since then I have viewed my use of the word as something that separates me from others. When I decided to open my freelance firm it just seemed natural to call it Tootaloo Designs.

Q : Your design inspires us, what inspires you?

A : I am inspired by the simplicity of everyday life.

After graduating from Appalachian State Univeristy I set off to explore the world and capture its beauty with my camera. With only a few articles of clothing, my camera and journal in hand, a few friends and I sought out to capture the unexpected.

The unique and beautiful people of India, the ancient cultures and breathtaking landscapes of Southeast Asia taught me to look at the simple beauty of everyday for design inspiration.

Q : We love the idea of the raised ink to add depth and texture. Can you tell us a little bit about your thought process behind creating your business card?

A : I have always loved designs that have a tactile quality. Raised ink gets your to interact with the design. You don’t just look at it your want to touch it. The raised ink adds depth and texture which activates more senses then a traditional business card.

Q : We understand this was your first order with MorningPrint, how was the experience?

A : I am an individual who prefers phone conversation over email. I want to be able to put a voice to name. MorningPrinting personal service does just that.

Q : Did you experience any difficulties when using TheMorningPrint.com, or find anything to be inconvenient or inefficient? Any suggestions you can offer us to help make the customer experience better?

A : My original design was to be embossed not raised ink. However, due to printing restraints embossing didn’t work for my design. MorningPrint informed me of the issue and offered suggestions to ensure my design would live up to my high expectations.
